The test showed that a Bank client had returned her ATM card for destruction as this individual only wanted to withdraw cash from the counter. However, the staff member in the bank claimed he had destroyed the card, which in fact was not true. He then withdrew a total of R42 000-00 from the client's account. After conducting the Polygraph Examination , a full confession was obtained and in fact the ATM card was found and destroyed. It is interesting to note that had the polygraph test not been conducted, then the two investigators handling the case would have had to interview 54 staff members, before beginning their process of elimination.
