While the rest of the business world has been waiting to see where. South African businesses are headed, South African Businessmen themselves face the uncertainty of the future.
However…
One thing is certain! Countless businessmen, both large and small, are constantly being crippled by “Corporate Crime”. Financial crimes and crimes against organisations have increased by over 65%. It is estimated that over R4 billion is
lost annually to criminal activities within the business sector.
Yet, many commercial crimes go unsolved or even worse, completely uninvestigated. Police efforts are ineffective as they concentrate on the symptoms rather than the course.
Hence, a growing need now exists for both commerce and industry to utilise the resources of the Private Security Industry to combat crime within your organisation.
One of the biggest problems encounted by company's experiencing losses or trying to uncover the truth, is the uncertainty of how and where to start. Over the years man has made use of various methods and gadgets in his quest for the truth. From Lombroso's glove, respiration devices, the “rack” tyre tubes and the more humorous, voice stress analyser.
Thanks to a brilliant psychologist by the name of Leonard Keeler, who was fascinated with lie detection, the first polygraph was developed.
The world has come a long way since Keeler's prototype was developed, and so have the polygraph machines themselves. There is absolutely no “denying” the fact that the polygraph works. In fact polygraph test results are currently admissible in court in over 20 states in the U.S.
At D & K Investigations and Consultants, our polygraph division is retained weekly to carry out polygraph examinations, in conjunction with our forensic investigation teams. The direct result being the countless successes we have achieved for our clients in identifying and rooting out criminals from within their organisations.
On two occasions the results of the polygraphs were used in court (civil) along with other evidence. On both occasions the court ruled in our favour.
Bearing in mind, that polygraph results cannot be used in isolation in court, D & K Management Consultants makes use of the polygraph as a tool to glean information and at times to narrow down the suspect list. At all times, further investigation and evidence should accompany the testing of suspects, something, which we specialise in doing. Thus when we advice a Client that they can proceed with prosecution or disciplinary action, we are almost 100% sure of getting a favourable ruling.
D & K have successfully made use of its polygraph tests in, amongst other cases such as:
- Murder Cases
- Fraud Investigations
- Sabotage
- Arson Cases
- Sexual harassment
Don't guess – make use of our polygraph services next time you need to know?
Remember the truth is out there!
